Giving Back to the Community this Holiday Season

2014 Food DriveThe holiday season is officially upon us! This time of the year offers family and friends not only the time to come together and celebrate but also the opportunity to give back to the community.

At CMA, giving back to the community has always been a significant part of our culture. For Thanksgiving, we recently participated in a Thanksgiving Food Drive for HomeFront, whose mission is to end homelessness in Central Jersey by harnessing the caring, resources and expertise of the community. The CMA team donated items needed for the perfect Thanksgiving meal and also contributed items to be enjoyed once the leftovers were gone.

This month, CMA will partner with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital’s Community Health Promotion Program to support a family in need this holiday season. Participating for the seventh year in a row, the CMA team will collect clothes, shoes, and gifts throughout December for our adopted family.

While the holiday season is filled with multiple opportunities to give back, our team keeps its eyes and ears open throughout the year. Back in the summer, CMA participated in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, which was a global social movement that involved dumping a bucket of ice water on someone’s head to promote awareness of the disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and encourage donations that fund research. The cause has raised more than $100 million.

Coming together as a company is a great way to bring everyone in your organization together. It offers the team a great experience and makes this time of year a bit more special for those in need.

Happy Holidays!
