Award season is upon us and with it comes more than just a trophy, but a path to follow for the future.

Recognition for your firm should be an opportunity to identify new strengths and potential improvements. Recognition can help generate new ideas and goals that can be implemented into your team’s strategic plan.

The CMA team was humbled with the recognition of five awards at the 40th Annual Jersey Shore Public Relations and Advertising Association (JSPRAA) awards ceremony recently at the Hilton Doubletree in Tinton Falls.

CMA was recognized with the following awards for communications excellence:

Drive and passion for what we do is how our organization succeeds. While the honor of receiving Jasper Awards solidified the work we do, it also helped motivate the team to strive further in the future. Sometimes a ‘pat on the back’ and acknowledgement for the work your team loves to do can pull your team further towards reaching its goal.

First, the identification of a job well-done is positive reinforcement and nice to hear. It acts as reassurance in achieving set team missions and objectives. Additionally, the recognition helps boost the spirits of your team members who work towards accomplishing these goals.

Secondly, recognition encourages your team to work harder. Giving recognition to a team stands as a symbol of achievement and diligence in the attributes that its firm exemplified. Once identified as a team that has excelled, the recognition motivate the team to do even better for the future. Any recognition, big or small, can help pull the team towards achieving goals and setting new ones.

From a leadership perspective, recognizing your employees is about laying the groundwork for future expectations and more business.
